Q: Where is Outpost located?
A: We currently have two Outpost Hostel locations. Our first is in El Nido, which is at the Northern end of the Palawan mainland.
The second is in Coron, which is on a separate island just North of Palawan.
Q: How do I get to El Nido?
A: From Manila, the quickest route is a direct flight to El Nido via Air Swift (~1.5 hours).
Another lower-cost route is a flight to Puerto Princesa, Palawan (~1 hour), then a shared or private van ride to El Nido (~5 hours). You can arrange your outbound van travel at Outpost reception.
Q: How do I get to Coron?
A: From Manila, multiple airlines offer direct flights to Coron (Busuanga). These include Air Swift, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Sky Jet and flying time is around 1 hour.
Q: How do I travel between El Nido and Coron?
A: The most common way is by taking the “fast” ferry. There are a couple of ferry options and depending on the weather the trip will take around 5-hours. Seats can be booked at Outpost reception.
A quicker route is a direct flight between El Nido and Coron with Air Swift. Flying time is under an hour.
Q: What are your check-in and check-out times?
A: The rooms are available for check-in at 3pm and check out is at 11am.
Q: What if I have a tour booked for the morning of my check-out?
A: You will need to check-out and bring your belongings down to reception for safe-keeping before you leave for tour.
Q: What tours do you offer?
A: You can book island hopping tours, inland excursions, scooter rentals, daily activities, and much more at Outpost reception.
Q: Are food and drinks available?
A: Every Outpost location offers a full kitchen serving Filipino and international and cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a full bar open all day.
Q: Are meals included with my booking?
A: While meals is not included, we have an eclectic restaurant menu to suit everyone’s tastes and budgets.
Q: Can I cook/bring my own food/drinks?
A: Outpost is not a BYOB establishment and we do not have guest kitchens. Please respect the kitchen and bar and do not bring in your own meals or alcohol.
Q: What time is the bar open and closed?
A: The bar opens with breakfast service at 8am and remains open until 10:30pm.
Q: What is included with my booking?
A: All in-house guests will be loaned a fresh towel and blanket for their stay. All private rooms will also include basic toiletries.
Q: Do you have Wi-Fi?
A: Yes, what kind of business do you think we’re running?
Q: Do you have security?
A: Yes, Outpost Hostels have security on premises at all times along with being covered by CCTV in public spaces.
Q: Are there guest lockers available?
A: Yes, every guest bed has a private locker available to them. All you need is your own lock!
Q: How big are the beds?
A: All of our bunk-beds are single. Our private room beds are Filipino queen-size. Some private rooms feature both queen and single beds – depending on location.
Q: Can I bring guests to the hostel?
A: Of course, the more the merrier! However, we do not allow outside overnight guests. Only in-house Outpost guests are allowed after the bar closes.
Q: Are kids allowed at Outpost?
A: While everyone is welcome to Outpost locations to enjoy our kitchen, bar, and fun, we only allow adults to stay as in-house guests.
Q: What payments are accepted?
A: At the moment only cash in Philippine Peso is accepted.
Q: Do you accept cryptocurrencies as payment?
A: Not yet.
